Mrs. Thelma Moore Abrams, 88, passed away on December 26, 2024, at her home in West Point. Thelma was born on October 26, 1936, in Noxubee County, the daughter of the late Chess Featherston and Ora Faye Harrison Moore. She worked as an Inspector for United Technologies/American Bosch for 37 years. In her younger years, she enjoyed traveling. She was an avid and accomplished cook. Her greatest accomplishment was teaching Sunday School at Calvary Baptist Church, where she was an active member. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She married John Wesley Abrams on March 29, 1963, in Noxubee County and he preceded her in death on February 7, 2014.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Louise McCrary, Stella Ming, Flossie Cummins, Nan Hammack, and Joyce Faye Moore and two brothers, Charles Moore and Chess Moore, Jr.
Visitation will be Monday, 10:45-11:00 A.M. at Memorial Garden Cemetery in West Point. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 A.M. with Mr. Randy Thomas officiating. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Survivors include one son, Randy Thomas of West Point: two step-daughters, Darleen Pearson (Johnny) of Raymond and Dale Mobarak (Greg) of Panama City Beach, Florida: six grandchildren, Beverly Wells (Chris), Shawn Thomas (Erin), David Mobarak, Mary Mobarak, Stacey Scott (Doug), and Amber Gerald (Luke): nine great-grandchildren: one brother, David Moore (Patsy) of Daphne, Alabama: one sister-in-law, Carol Dallas of Meridian, and one brother-in-law, Guy P. Hammack of Columbus.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Beulah Gray's Sunday School Class at Calvary Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 282 McCord Street, West Point, Mississippi 39773.
