Thelma Ackinson Obituary

Thelma Carol Ackinson, 76 years, of Perryville, MD, passed away Monday, October 13, 2025 at home. Born October 13, 1949 in Elkton, MD, she was the daughter of the late Delmar William, Sr., and Kathryn Mae Anderson Patrick.

Thelma is survived by her husband, Michael Ackinson; daughter, Kathy Strianese; step-daughter, Lavinia Upchurch; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and brother, Kenneth Patrick.

Thelma was known for her kind and gentle spirit, touching the hearts of everyone she met. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, creating cherished memories filled with love and laughter. She found peace by the water, where she loved to spend quiet moments surrounded by nature's beauty. She also had a special love for Boston terriers, who always brought her happiness. Her warmth, compassion, and love for others will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her brothers, Sonny Waddell and Delmar Patrick, Jr.

Funeral services will be private.
