Thelma Lucille Aldergate

Thelma Lucille Aldergate (Plotts), born September 3, 1927, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025. She lived a remarkable life, witnessing the evolution from the flicker of silent films to the glow of smartphones, from Model T's to space shuttles, and through the Great Depression to modern medicine. With her quick wit and boundless spirit, she embraced each moment, living with gratitude, resilience, and joy. For over 60 years, Thelma was the beloved wife of Lester Aldergate and a partner in a love story that endured decades. A devoted heart into her family-children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-greats-she brought laughter and love. She will be deeply missed but forever celebrated by family, friends, and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester J. Aldergate, siblings Helen Barrett and Vernon Plotts, and nephews Bruce Barrett and Mike Plotts. She is survived by her family, including children David (Mandy) Aldergate of Dennison, Keith (Pam) Aldergate of Atwood Lake, Cathy (Doug) McPeek of Tuscarawas; grandchildren Hannah (Mike) Wilkinson, Becky (Graig) Bache, Jodi Aldergate, Nathan (MyKala) Aldergate, Christopher Aldergate, Lacy (John) Ronald, Cory Johnson; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In keeping with her wishes, Thelma will be cremated, with a private family interment at Hartwood Church Cemetery. A memorial service is planned at a later date.
