Thelma Clark Clark Goodson

Thelma Goodson of Newberry, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025. Born on July 18, 1936, in Little Mountain, South Carolina, Thelma was the beloved daughter of Estelle and Murray Clark.

Thelma, affectionately known as "Maw" by her family, was the youngest of 12 children and the last surviving sibling of a true matriarch and living legacy of strength, faith, and family. She was a devoted mother to four children: Shirley, Eddie, James, and Tracy. Her love and legacy continues through her 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, all of whom she treasured dearly.

She found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially her cherished visits to Walmart. Her warmth, humor, and kind spirit were evident to all who knew her. She had an unbreakable bond with her "Favorite" Grandson, Tarakus Coleman, whom she called "Roc". She was also blessed with the loyal friendship of Ms. Elaine Hawkins Maybin, whose love and companionship meant the world to her.

Thelma's life was a testament to resilience, love, and devotion. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and all who were touched by her presence.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel. Public viewing will be from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Monday, August 18, 2025 at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel.
