Thelma A. Dougherty (nee Rice) of Maple Shade passed away peacefully on Friday November 14, 2025 at the age of 80. She was born in Schenectady, New York on March 2, 1945 to the late William and Marie Rice. Thelma was a lifetime resident of Maple Shade. She was a retired bank teller having worked at PNC bank. Thelma was active in the Jaycees in Maple Shade and the American Legion Ladies Auxiallary in Cherry Hill. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Thelma took great pleasure in playing Santa for the children.
Loving mother of Joseph (Ann) Dougherty, John (Julie) Dougherty and the late James F. Dougherty, Jr., cherished grandmother of Samantha Dougherty, Brett (Kiersten) Dougherty and McKenzie Dougherty, dear sister of Eileen (the late William) Schmidt, Kay (the late William) Busch and Jack (Nancy) Rice, predeceased by her longtime friend and companion Nick Molessa, she will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Thelma’s funeral services will be held privately. Arrangements by the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 38 N. Forklanding Road, Maple Shade.
