Theodore Bierwirth, Age 91, Of Bristol, RI passed away on March 27, 2026.
Born in Jersey City, N. J., He was the son of the late Charles and Helen Bierwirth. He is predeceased by his brother, Edward, as well as his sister, Doris. He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret of 56 years. Margaret and Theodore shared many wonderful years traveling the world together. Theodore also leaves many nieces, nephews, and good friends.
Ted attended Upsala College in East Orange, N.J. He majored in Business and Financial Administration. He served in the United States Army Security Agency. A Marketing Manager for the United States Gypsum Co., he later worked for the Coldwell Banker Commercial Group and was a Broker Agent for the Sitar Co. in Edison, N.J. where he specialized in Office and Industrial Sales. Ted also owned and managed his own residential Real Estate Agency on the Jersey Shore.
A member of the Shrewsbury River Yacht Club, he enjoyed his role as Entertainment and Hospitality Chairman as well as sailing his Marshall 22 Catboat, Spellbound.
While living in Newport, Ted volunteered at the Museum of Yachting. A member of the Catboat Association, he would look forward to attending the different seminars in Newport and Maine. He often shared sailing stories with other Catboat enthusiasts. Ted also participated in Events at the Newport Historical Society, Preservation Society of Newport, and the Newport Yacht Club.
Ted was a member of the English Setter Association and owned two wonderful Setters, Tara and Cassie.
We would like to thank the staff at Grand Islander Nursing Home for his wonderful care, as well as caretaker Jonathan Cortes.
Calling hours are respectfully omitted. Burial will be private.
