Theodore A Chavez, (63), of Denver, Colorado, passed away on March 27, 2023, surrounded by family. Theodore, fondly known as Ted, was born to Gloria Leyba Chavez and Primo Rufus Chavez, on November 21, 1959, in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Ted is survived by his twin daughters Chantel, and Janelle, and two sons Tony, and Emiliano. He is also survived by his grandkids, Selena and Isaac, his sister, Tina, nieces, Marlena, and Celeste, and nephews, Reece, and Joseph. Ted was also predeceased by his brother Rufus, his sister-in-law Lorenza, nephew Isaac, and cousin Ernie.
Ted held many titles in his life, including, school bus driver, coach, DJ, and community liaison, but his favorite role was being a father to his twin daughters and son Emiliano. He loved nothing more than spending time with his children. He was always there for them - his kids were his everything. Theodore changed his life for his twin girls and then again when his son Emiliano was born where his family grew to include, Sandra, Jamille, Michelle, Karen, and grandchildren Renata and Ellie who he loved so much. Ted wasn't like a normal dad he raised his twin daughters as a single parent. He went above and beyond for his children, they traveled the world together, volunteered, coached, and played ball together.
Ted left this world a very accomplished man. He has been recognized for his bus driving and training skills, honored for his service in the community, and has been recognized as a 9 news hero. Ted loved giving back to his community, children, and the kids he coached and drove to school. May he continue to live in our memories.

Ted was the heartbeat of our community. if you was doing any research on community he would be the person to talk to. we were great friends and involved in a lot of things together. When we started NAG he was right there in the middle of the programs we offered. When we wanted to deliver dinners to families on thanksgiving day he was the one that would come up with at least 1000 families. when we started CHWC we knew that getting 100 houses each summer to work on would not be an issue as he knew that many needy people. he took over the girls softball right after me. Ted was one of the most phenomenal person i have ever known. he definitely did not know how to say no. So many people got to experience the depth of Gods love through him. and now he gets it first hand.

We are so sorry for your loss. I met Ted years ago when I filled in as Head Coach for his Racers Softball team. My son Carlos would go with him in the summers to help the elderly in the community and he was also my kids bus driver on occasion. He truly made a difference for the kids and the community. God Bless your family.
