Theodore John Cool, Jr., a man whose life was defined by service, passion, and dedication, passed away on August 4, 2025, in Newport News, VA at the age of 78. Born on October 18, 1946, in Concord, New Hampshire, Theodore embraced life with an adventurous spirit and a commitment to excellence.
A proud veteran, Theodore dedicated 25 years to the United States Army, serving his country with distinction. His military career was marked by honor and perseverance, reflecting a deep-seated love for his nation and a steadfast belief in the values he held dear. Afterwards he would then dedicate over 25 more years to Seimans which he also retired from with pride.
After retirement, Theodore continued to explore and cultivate his many interests. He had an enduring love for motorcycles and bicycles, often finding solace and joy on the open road. His fascination with computers and electronics kept him engaged with the ever-evolving world of technology, while his home projects showcased his remarkable creativity and skill. Theodore also found fulfillment in winemaking, a craft he pursued with enthusiasm and precision.
His beloved dogs, especially his cocker spaniels and standard poodles, were a source of constant companionship and happiness. Theodore's deep affection for them reflected the kindness and empathy that characterized his relationships with others.
Theodore was an active member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA), where he shared his passion for motorcycling with like-minded enthusiasts. As President of Single People of Tidewater (SPOT), he connected with many, offering camaraderie and friendship. A dedicated member of the Machinist's and Aerospace Workers Union, his associations echoed the principles of community and solidarity that were central to his life.
A graduate of Bangor High School's Class of 1964 in Bangor, ME, Theodore cherished the friendships and memories forged during those formative years.
He is lovingly remembered by his brother, Robert A. Cool, and sister, Marsha L. Cool, who stood by him throughout his journey. His nephew, Andrew John Cool, and niece, Amanda Jean Rooney, along with her husband Brian, were a treasured part of his family circle. Great nieces Nevada Jean Rooney and Niana Ashley Rooney brought joy and laughter into his life, encapsulating the legacy of love he leaves behind.
Preceded in death by his parents, Theodore John Cool, Sr. and Amelia Koburt Cool, Theodore's life was a testament to their enduring influence and guidance.
Though he has departed this world, Theodore's legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His life was a beacon of inspiration, demonstrating the power of dedication, passion, and love.
