On Saturday September 24, 2022, Theodore F. Grimm, passed away at the Samaritan Hospice Inpatient
Center in Voorhees NJ after a long and valiant battle with Lewey Body Dementia. The journey has been
most difficult due to the amazing intellect and beautiful mind of Ted. Cherished were his abilities to ask
interesting questions and create great conversation at so many holiday parties and events. Ted spent
most of his life trying new things such as yoga, ball room dancing, skiing, French lessons and most
importantly – traveling. He was committed to his family – brother Larry Grimm, sister in law Jo-Anne
Grimm and their children: Sabina, Larry III, and Kristi-Anne. He enjoyed many trips to the local pub to
visit his friends of a life time. Ted was a dedicated NJ State employee for over 30 years. He began his
career as a Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS) protective services caseworker in Camden
County. He was promoted to supervising a unit of workers in the Work Incentive Network (WIN) in
Atlantic County. Ted's final assignments before his retirement in 2001 was with the Division of Family
Development (DFD) in Trenton. His last position was as a State representative to the Union County
Board of Social Services where he provided assistance and clarification to that agency in the
implementation of Federal and State laws, regulations and guidelines of family assistance programs.
Ted was proceeded in death by parents Lawrence and Gertrude Grimm and a younger beloved brother,
Ronnie. The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Personally Yours services who provided
much support; kindness and love to Ted and his family these last four years –
specifically Lisa Ciquero and Renee Hoagland.
Services are private and at the convenience of the family.

I worked with Ted in Trenton for many years! He was a great friend at work. Fun to talk too. I am so sorry to hear about his death. He will be missed. He always had interesting bits of history to tell us.

Ted and I first met at Rutgers, where we were members of Lambda Sigma Chi fraternity and became friends. In college Ted exhibited his lifelong inquisitive nature and love of learning. His many interests (photography, skiing, politics, music, travel) were an inspiration for me to expand my horizons. I spent many happy hours traveling, dining and discussing events with Ted. He was a good friend and I will miss him.

My friend of some 60 years was always "his own person." I enjoyed the many discussions we'd share on weighty matters of the day. Whether we happened to agree or not, I always found Ted's perspectives to be grounded in fact and reason. Thank you for your friendship, Ted, as well as for enriching my life and expanding my perspectives over those many years.

I have nothing but good memories of Ted. He was great friends with my Uncle Rich and felt just like family when he would join us for the holidays over the years. You will be greatly missed. May you rest in peace

Ted will be missed! I knew him through my uncle, who was great friends with Ted. He would join us for various holiday dinners ever since I was a small child. He always had a story to share about an adventure he had taken or was about to take. I'm glad my own children had a chance to meet him before he passed. RIP Ted.
