Theodore Hatfield, Jr., age 84, known as "Junior" passed away on June 29, 2025, at the U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. Born on October 4, 1940, in Tazewell, TN, Junior's life was marked by his unwavering kindness and loving nature, traits that endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Junior was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Theodore and Lena Hatfield; his cherished wife, Shirley Hatfield; his brothers Tilmon and wife Kathleen, Rufus and wife Shirley, James and wife Bobbie, and Eugene and wife Jo Ann. He also joins his sisters Christene Hatfield, Barbra Evans and husband Dwight, his son-in-law Richard Cody, and his mother-in-law Gracie (Maw) Moore.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion with his daughters, Missy Cody, Susan Singleton and husband Steve, and Angie Quick. His grandchildren, Jackie Singleton, R.J. Quick, and Jacob Quick, will remember him as a guiding light and a source of endless support. His sister Faye Payne and her husband Jack will cherish memories of Junior's compassion and warmth. His life was enriched by the presence of several nieces and nephews, as well as a host of relatives and friends, all of whom felt the gentle touch of his kindness.
Junior was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Those who knew Junior would describe him as the epitome of kindness and love. From the simplest acts of kindness to the most significant gestures of love, Junior lived his life as a testament to these virtues.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Please join us as we honor the memory of Junior Hatfield and reflect on the joy he brought into our lives. His spirit, now free, leaves behind a trail of beautiful memories for us to hold dear until we meet again.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday July 3, 2025, at The Cave Springs Cemetery with Rev. Jackie Daniels officiating, music will be provided by Rev. Jackie Daniels. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
