Theodore Lee Lange, "Ted," 86 years old, of Antioch, IL, passed away peacefully Monday, October 6, 2025, at Froedtert South-St. Catherine Medical Center in Pleasant Prairie, WI.
He was born July 26, 1939, in Kingston, IL, the son of Mary Beulah (nee Kirk), growing up on the family farm. He later lived in Waukegan, IL, Scottsdale, AZ, and Wildwood, IL, settling in Antioch, IL in the mid-1970s. Before his retirement in 2006, Ted worked as an HVAC Tech for Petropoulos Brothers, and later as a facilities director for IMC, Mundelein, IL and Cole-Parmer, Vernon Hills, IL.
Ted was a member of the United Methodist Church of Antioch, former member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Antioch, IL, and was a lifelong member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. Ted was very mechanical, restoring/maintaining antique cars, fixing clocks and timepieces, and had built 3 of his houses. He enjoyed: playing cards, fishing, and being a shrewd negotiator on his next bargain. On November 24, 1990, Ted married Ardythe Fey at Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church in Grayslake, IL.
Survivors include: his wife of 35 years, Ardy; six children, Ted (Sandra), Lory, Dannylee (Tabatha), Barry (Georgeanne), Kristin (Brian) and Nathan; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild with one-on-the-way; two sisters, Faye and Wanda; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to his mother Mary Beulah, Ted was preceded in death by two children, David and Barbara; and nine sibling,: Irene, Dorothy, J.B., Gene, Edward, George Jr., Beverly, Mertie, and Mary.
Visitation will be held from 12 noon until 2 pm Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the United Methodist Church of Antioch, 848 Main St. Antioch, IL 60002, with funeral services commencing at 2 pm. Interment will follow in Home Oaks Cemetery, Lake Villa, IL. Arrangements were entrusted to the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH.
