Theodore J. Rupp, known to his family and friends as Ted, passed away on October 20th at age 72, at his home in Norwalk, CT. Ted was born on August 10, 1950 to the late Joseph and Stephanie Rupp of Stamford, CT.
Ted attended Stamford schools and graduated from Central Connecticut State University. He was deeply proud to have served his country as a Sargent of the U.S. Army, and was a combat veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from 1970 to 1971, as a member of the Signal Corps.
Ted met his wife, Patsy, when they were both working at Stamford Hospital and married soon after. He was an analyst for Merrill Lynch in New York City, followed by 21 years as a manager for Monarch Brass and Copper Company in New Rochelle, New York. Following Monarch he was a supervisor for the Norwalk Transit District Bus Company. After his retirement he may have found his perfect "job" as a volunteer Santa Claus at Pound Ridge Nursery in Pound Ridge, NY.
Ted always found his greatest joy in his many roles as husband, stepfather, proud uncle, son and sibling. Family was a prime satisfaction for his life, and while his memory will be long cherished, his smile and easy laugh will be sorely missed.
Ted is survived by his wife of 46 years, Patsy, and stepdaughter, Denise Cogliandro of Stamford, CT., and nine nieces and nephews. His beloved sisters, Elizabeth and Regina, and brother, Edward, preceded him in death.
There will be a private services and burial with military honors at the Spring Grove Cemetery, in Darien, CT. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be sent to the CT. Audubon Society, 314 Unquowa Road, Fairfield, CT. 06824, or a charity of your choice. The family would also like to thank the Bennett Cancer Center at Stamford Hospital nurses and staff, and the Visiting Nurse and Hospice of Fairfield County for their kind and ongoing support.
