Dr. Theodore Charles Waldron (Ted) answered the Lord's call and returned to his heavenly home on January 16, 2025, at the age of 78.
Ted was a lifelong servant leader. He served with honor in the U.S. military before completing medical school at the Pennsylvania College of Osteopathic Medicine. Ted became a respected physician in his hometown of Hazleton, Pennsylvania, where he devoted his career to caring for others. Patients from all backgrounds and walks of life cherished his compassion, understanding, and attentiveness to their wellbeing-whether at the office or their own homes. A talented clinician, Ted served countless patients during his half century in family medicine.
Ted's reputation as a physician was surpassed only by his reputation as a husband, father, and grandfather. As a husband, he offered the utmost devotion, support, and love to his wife of nearly 50 years. As a father, he offered sage wisdom, unconditional love, fierce protection, and so much more as he modeled what it meant to be a "good person" for his two sons and their wives. As a grandfather, he was a constant source of joy to his two grandsons and two granddaughters. Their "pop-pop" would talk with them for as long as they had words to offer, buy them the latest-and-greatest gifts for birthdays, holidays, or just because, and gave them way too much candy (much to their parents' joy and chagrin).
Ted's love for his family and his country was unparalleled, and his legacy will live on through the lives he touched. He is survived by his loving wife (Gloria), two sons (Darren and Theodore), two daughters-in-law (Sara and Kristin), four grandchildren (Jaxon, Declan, Sophia, and Alexia), and many others who will fondly remember him his selfless nature and enduring spirit. He will be deeply missed, except perhaps by the fish of the Susquehanna River that he spent so many hours trying to catch.

Dear Gloria, Ted and Darren,

I was so sad and sorry to hear of Ted's passing. I will always remember the way he made me laugh and the caring way he treated me when I was sick. He was a wonderful person who made each person better for knowing him. We were blessed to have him in our family. I'll keep you and your families in my thoughts in this difficult time and hope you feel the support and love being sent your way as you celebrate his life.

With love,
Gina

Dear Darren, Ted, and Gloria - I am absolutely heart-broken to hear of Ted's passing. We all loved him so much. He was so kind and thoughtful and wonderful. My earliest memory is of cousin Christine requesting that Ted be her "prince charming" in an Atlantic City/Brigantine artist sketch. It hung on the Ustynoski wall for years. That pretty much sums up how much he meant to us. I am so sorry for your loss as it must be tremendous. We ask our great God to help us to look death in the face and transcend it, knowing "life is changed but not taken away (D. Day)" May Ted's spirit be with you always. Love, Rosemary (Marusak)
