Died: July 15, 2022 in Peru, IL
Theodore C. Zmudka, 98, of LaSalle, passed away Friday, July 15, 2022 at St. Margaret's Health, Peru.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at St. Hyacinth's Church, LaSalle with Rev. Paul Carlson officiating. Burial will follow in St. Hyacinth's Cemetery, LaSalle with full military rites conducted by the LaSalle-Oglesby Veterans Memorial Group. Visitation will be 10-10:50 AM Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Mueller-Pagani Funeral Home, LaSalle.
Mr. Zmudka was born May 20, 1924 in LaSalle to Chester and Anna (Grygiel) Zmudka. He married Lucille Evoskis on June 13, 1953 in Spring Valley. She passed away in 1989.
Mr. Zmudka was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1943-1946 in Europe and the Philippines during World War II. He worked at Orsinger Bakery in LaSalle, Union Carbide in Ottawa and retired as an operator at American Hearst in Ottawa. Mr. Zmudka was a member of St. Hyacinth's Church in LaSalle and served on the St. Hyacinth's Cemetery board. He was a member of St. Stephen's Men's Club, Catholic War Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the National Clock Association. He liked to attend auctions and enjoyed repairing clocks and carving ducks.
Survivors include his daughter, Alice (Tom) Joop of Peru and a grandson, Eric (Lauren) Joop of Washington and their children, Ella and Jay.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents and his sister, Josephine Kotar.
