Theora Jean Hoover was born March 18th, 1943 in Salina, Kansas to Ted and Mary (Brennaman) Heck. She passed over into Heaven on March 29th, 2025 in Salina, Kansas at the age of 82.
Theora attended school in Salina and Culver, Kansas, graduating from Salina Central in 1961.
Theora met Gerald Eldon Hoover on November 18, 1957 and started going "steady" on December 1st, 1957. They got married May 27th, 1961.
They made their home in Salina, and began building a family with the birth of their daughter, Lori, on July 23, 1962, and adding a son on August 23, 1966 to complete their family.
Following high school, Theora worked as a nurse's aide at St. John's Hospital. She later transferred to Asbury Hospital as a surgical tech where she worked for 32 years. In 1992 she retired and helped start a cinnamon roasted nut business with Gerald, Tom, and Jean Isaacson.
In her free time, she enjoyed going to the casino, playing BINGO, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include a daughter Lori Ramsay; son, Lance (Tresha) Hoover; sister, Melody (Craig) Hawkinson; grandchildren, Jayme (Megan) Hoover, Trent (Domi) Hoover, Reilly (Grace) Coyne, Cole (Emily) Hoover, Emma Ramsay; seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Theora is preceded in death by her husband Gerald Hoover; father, Ted Heck; mother, Mary (Heck) Hardesty; step father, Lawrence Hardesty; sister, Joanna Mauk; brother, Larry Hardesty; and grandson, Ryan Coyne.
A visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Wednesday, April 2nd, at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S Ohio St. Salina, Kansas.
The Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 3rd, at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home in Salina, Kansas. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Salina.
Donations may be made to the charity of your choice in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home.
