Theresa Kantorowski Juchno, age 96, passed away peacefully on Friday April 25, 2025. She was born on March 3, 1929 in Erie, PA to parents Stella and Anthony Kantorowski.
Theresa was a 1947 graduate of East High School in Erie, PA, and was a life-long resident of the east side of the city until the last two years of her life when she moved to Ohio to live with her youngest daughter Ann. Before her marriage she worked at Marx Toys. Theresa married Chester (Doc) Juchno and moved into the house at 412 Reed Street that would be her home for the next 66 years. Throughout the years, this home was "central station" for all out-of-town family and the site of large Polish holiday gatherings that were filled with food, drinks, laughter, games and then more food. Theresa was a proud parishioner of St. Hedwig's Catholic Church where she was a leader and member of both the Ave Maria and Rosary societies. She was a member there until its closing when she then returned to her childhood parish St. Casimir (now Mother of Sorrows).
Theresa was the most giving person and a tireless worker who cared for the needs of others and never herself. She was a single mother for 50 years after the passing of her husband and she held multiple housecleaning jobs to care for her children. She loved gardening and keeping her home beautiful with flowers. Theresa was a great Polish cook and baker and locally known by friends and family for her sweet bread, nut roll, and czernina (duck soup)! She was a proud Polish woman who passed on the Polish heritage to her children and grandchildren. Visits to Erie for the holidays were always an exciting time where the grandchildren were spoiled with much love.
Survivors include her children Patti Williams (Tim) of Clarkesville, GA, Dave Juchno (Beckie) of Hanover, PA, and Ann Juchno of Dayton, OH. Also grandsons Benji Williams (Ashley) of Buford, GA, Robbie Williams (Meredith) of Rome, GA, Cal Williams (Alex) of Atlanta, GA, Matt Juchno of Dover,PA, and Sam Williams (Ann) of Westminster, SC. Also great grandchildren Dayt, Henry, George, Mattie, Eloise, Evie and Lucy. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their children.
She was preceded in death by her husband Chester Juchno, daughter Barb Juchno, granddaughter Amanda Juchno, and all her siblings.
Friends may call on Thursday, May 1 at the Kloecker-Razanauskas Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 4396 Iroquois Ave. from 3pm until 7pm, and are invited to the Funeral Mass the following morning, Friday, May 2 at St. Casimir Church at 10am. Entombment will follow at Calvary Mausoleum. Send condolences to www.kloeckerfuneralhome.com.
Donations may be made to Shriners Hospital of Erie, or for masses at Mother of Sorrows or your home parish.

My deepest condolences to the entire family. I had the pleasure several years ago of spending time with Mrs. Teresa when I was the caregiver for one of her grandchildren Amanda. Mrs. Teresa always had the biggest smile, big heart, cooking something(even taught me a few things), and had a great love for her family.
