Theresa Krofchik Obituary

Theresa M. Krofchik, 82, formerly of Natrona Heights, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025, in Snyder, Texas. She was born Feb. 16, 1943, in Harrison Township, a daughter of the late Stephen and Anna (Olszewski) Nitowski. Theresa lived most of her life in Natrona Heights and has spent the past year in Texas. She was an administrative assistant in the accounting department of the Valley News for 30 years. Theresa was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Tarentum, and a 1960 graduate of Har Brack High School. She was an avid traveler with her husband, traveling all over the world, and she especially loved Las Vegas. Theresa enjoyed spending time with her family, children, and grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Michelle M. Teichman, and Michael Barranti, of Hermleigh, TX; son, Paul M. (David Carey) Krofchik, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandson, Francis J. 'Frankie' Teichman IV; and step-grandsons, Luciano and Ethan Barranti. Also surviving is her sister, Carole (Barry) Breninghouse, of Lower Burrell. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Krofchik, in 2021; brother, Alfred 'Fritz' Nitowski, in 2001; and a nephew, Gary Nitowski. A private family viewing and services with her pastor, Very Rev. Vasyl Polyak, were held at DUSTER FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 347 E. 10th Ave., Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Burial was private in Mount Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, 339 E. 10th Ave., Tarentum, PA 15084. I worked with Theresa at the Valley News in the late 80´s in the accounting dept. She was the best teacher in my job training and she always had the most beautiful fluffy hair. I will always remember her. My condolences to her children´. Carol Gelorme
