Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Easton on Mar. 29, 2023.
Theresa (Gallagher) Kurkul, age 96, of West Bridgewater formerly of Brockton, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton surrounded by her loving family. She was married for 61 years to the late William J. Kurkul who passed away in 2012.
Born and raised in Cambridge, Theresa was the daughter of the late Edward and Annie (McCusker) Gallagher.
Theresa loved to be busy and enjoyed working. She retired from Shelby Mutual Insurance in her 60's and then went on to work part-time for A.A. Will Materials until she was in her 90's. She loved watching the Patriots, Bruins and the Red Sox (although she never forgave them for trading Mookie Betts), but most of all she enjoyed her time spent with her family.
Theresa is survived by her three children, William J. Kurkul, Jr. and his wife Nora of Andover, Patricia Kurkul and her wife Kathi Rodrigues of Newburyport and Robert Kurkul and his wife Kelly of Bridgewater; six grandchildren and their spouses, Matthew Kurkul and his wife Seimi, Ryan Kurkul and his wife Elena Pinceti, Andrea Kurkul, Kevin Kurkul and his fiancee Brenda Chew, Emily Kurkul and Cameron Kurkul; two great grandchildren, Aidan and Brian Kurkul; and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her five siblings.
Theresa's funeral services will be held privately at a later date at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Andover, and at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
Donations in her name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
