Theresa Macias, 95, of Kingsville, Texas entered into eternal rest with her Savior, Lord Jesus Christ, on Saturday, September 28, 2024, after a long illness and beautiful life that spanned 95 years. Theresa was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. She was born in 1929 in Tampico, Tamaulipas Mexico and became a United States citizen after immigrating to the US in pursuit of creating new roots.
Shortly after coming to the US, she moved to Chicago, Illinois to study cosmetology. After studying this passion, she was able to open her own Beauty Shop, where she immersed herself in the enjoyment of interacting with her clients. After living in Chicago for over 15 years, she moved to Harlingen, TX, where she eventually reconnected with her family members, and continued to work as a beautician for most of her life. As time went on, she moved to Kingsville, in order to be closer to her immediate family and help raise her grandchildren-who also shared in her appreciation of love for beauty products, especially make-up and hairstyles.
Theresa was a devout Catholic who thrived on being in the company of her congregation. She enjoyed attending Wednesday and Sunday masses, prayer meetings, and reading, as well as spreading, the Word of the Bible. Her favorite belief was "Si Dios quiere (If God allows)", and she walked in the Holy Spirit's scriptures throughout the entirety of her life.
Theresa always showed her love and compassion for animals, especially puppies. Her pet dog, Baby, was her faithful companion for many years, and she patiently awaited the day she could return to be by her side in Heaven. She was never fearful to walk into the Kingdom of Heaven, alongside Lord Jesus Christ, whom she devoted her heart to serving.
Theresa was married twice and was preceded in death by her mother, Maria Teresa Bear de Becerra, and her father, Andres Becerra, as well as her two siblings-brother Andres Becerra and sister Antonia Marquez. Theresa is survived by her children: Pedro Mendoza, Jesse (Briseida) Mendoza, and Norma Macias; four Grandchildren: Briseida Mendoza, Jessica (Jerry) Perez, Araceli (Roberto) Salinas, and lastly, her beloved Grandson, Christian Colunga. Her four Great-Grandchildren: Bella & Melody Perez and Kaleigh Rae & Lilly Salinas, plus several nephews and nieces, will forever remember her divine teachings in the belief and power of faith, and in God's time, all shall reconvene alongside her in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home, with a Rosary at 9:30 a.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. St. Martin's Catholic Church with Father Alfredo Villarreal officiating. Theresa will laid to rest at Santa Gertrudis Memorial Cemetery.
