Theresa T. Nixon, 69, of Swoyersville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27th, at Allied Services Hospice in Wilkes-Barre.
Born July 19th, 1956, in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Laura Tkaczyk. Theresa was a proud graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1974, and went on to achieve a degree through Wilkes-Barre Business College. She dedicated over 40 years of her career to Citizens Bank, where she was known for her commitment, professionalism, and kindness.
One of Theresa's greatest joys in life was giving back to her community. She was an avid volunteer, lending her time and heart to organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, local soup kitchens, the United Way, the WVIA Telethons, and many school fundraisers. Her passion for service left a lasting impact on many.
Theresa deeply loved her family and cherished spending time with friends. Her warmth, generosity, and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, James Nixon; her daughters, Amanda and Jessica Nixon; her brother, Bernard P. Tkaczyk and his wife Kathy; sister-in-law Catherine Tkaczyk; brother and sister-in-law Robert and Catherine Nixon; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, David Tkaczyk.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 10 AM to 12 PM on Saturday, October 4th at Hugh B. Hughes & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, Forty Fort. A short memorial service will follow at 12 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Theresa's name to the Medical Oncology Prescription Drug Program through Medical Oncology Associates; MOAWV.
