Theresa Pawloski

Theresa Pawloski, 64, of Johnstown, New York passed away January 31, 2026 at her Residence in Johnstown, NY, following a brief illness.

She was born in Amsterdam, NY on December 12, 1961, the daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa Bojarczuk Pawloski. She was one of six children and was a lifelong area resident.

She was under the care of the Lexington Center in Johnstown, NY.

She was a communicant of the former St. John the Baptist Church in Amsterdam and currently Church of the Holy Spirit in Gloversville, and St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam.

Theresa is survived by her sister, Mary Ann, brothers, Joseph, Jim and John Pawloski. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was predeceased by her parents, a sister, Stephanie Siwik and Stepmother, Frances.

After seven years of parental care at home she lived the rest of her life with the NYS ARC homes because of the generosity of her fellow Americans. She was never able to talk but when she looked at you with her beautiful blue eyes, she said so much. She had no vices like many of us but she loved so many things. Up until her final days suffering from cancer she was fond of trying new foods and spending time with the people she loved.

Over the years, people have asked us, as her family, what purpose does her life have? Her life was a lot more than meets the eye. It was how she touched our hearts that meant the most. She was loved by her family, friends and the staff that helped support her.

Besides being a good listener, spending time with her stimulated life reflection. Everyone wants a simple stress-free life, and she seemed to have it, but her life was by no means easy. When she was born, the doctors told our parents that she would not live more than five years. She beat that by 59 years and in those years, she was the best of us. We know that's because she spirit was strong, faithful and her life was full of a special purpose. Follow Jesus now Terry. Rest in peace with Dad, mom and sister Stephanie.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday February 4, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the Rose & Hughes Funeral Home, 200 Church St., Amsterdam, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday February 5,2026 at 11:00 AM at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, 50-52 Cornell St., Amsterdam, NY with the Very Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis E.V. as celebrant. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Amsterdam.
