Therese Y. Holmes, known as Terry, born October 26, 1965, in Manchester, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. A devoted mother, cherished sister, and loving grandmother, Terry’s life was defined by love and her deep devotion to those closest to her.
She was a proud graduate of Goffstown High School, Class of 1984. Terry built a long and fulfilling career as a cosmetologist, where she expressed her passion for beauty and fashion every day. Known for her natural flair and creativity, she carried her love of style beyond her profession, using fashion as a personal form of self-expression.
Terry’s greatest joy, however, was her family. She took immense pride in being a mother and grandmother and treasured every moment spent with her loved ones—especially the children. Whether babysitting, helping care for them, or simply sharing everyday moments, she created memories filled with warmth and love that will be carried forward for generations. In quieter moments, Terry found peace in reading, often enjoying the comfort of a good book.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Emily Holmes; her cherished granddaughter, Lillah; her mother, Yvette Lavigne; her siblings and their spouses, Patty and Frank Blanchard, and Janet Browne and Matthew Trotter; her brother, Marc Lavigne; and a loving extended family of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews who will forever hold her in their hearts. She was predeceased by her father, Reginald Lavigne.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on January 8, 2026, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service from 7:00 to 8:00 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, New Hampshire.
Terry will be remembered for her loving heart, her creative spirit, and her unwavering dedication to family—an enduring legacy that will live on in all who were fortunate to know her.
In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the Alzheimer's Association in Terry's memory.
