Therese Ulanowski Obituary

Therese (Terry) M. Ulanowski, age 74, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on November 2, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, Terry's life was defined by compassion, devotion, and an endless capacity to care for others. She attended Lourdes High School and went on to study nursing at St. Mary of Nazareth School of Nursing, where her lifelong calling to help others took root. As a registered nurse at Holy Cross Hospital, Terry's kindness and dedication touched countless lives.
Terry found joy in life's simple and heartfelt moments - especially those spent with her family. Her happiest days were often at her "home away from home," Disney's Old Key West, where she and her family created countless cherished memories on their vacations together. Whether relaxing by the pool, sharing laughter over dinner, or playing Rummy and board games late into the night, those trips became treasured family traditions that brought her immense joy.
Affectionately known as "Nana" and "Tucky Nana" by her grandchildren, Terry filled their lives with warmth, laughter, and love. She cherished crocheting blankets for her children and grandchildren, each one stitched with care and a piece of her heart. Family was everything to her - she loved bringing everyone together and took great pride in hosting holidays, where her kindness and laughter made everyone feel at home.
Terry was preceded in death by her parents, John Repescak and Alfreda Wilk, her stepfather Stanley Wilk, and her brother John Wilk.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, David Ulanowski; her three beloved children, Jeff (Connie) Ulanowski, Rob (Amber) Ulanowski, and Amy (Jeremy) Sandifer; her cherished grandchildren, Katie (Scott), Sara, Maddex, Vienna, Abby, and Cassie; and her sweet pup, Lexi. She also leaves behind many dear relatives and lifelong friends whom she held close to her heart.
A celebration of Terry's life will be held at Ratterman & Brothers East (12900 Shelbyville Road) on Saturday, November 1st. Visitation will take place from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a small prayer service.
Terry's love, warmth, and unwavering spirit will live on in all who knew her - a beautiful reminder of a life so deeply and lovingly lived.
