Therese Zavacki, nee Lanagan, 94, of Chicago, IL, entered eternal life peacefully in her home with family on December 8, 2021. Therese was a longtime member of Our Lady of Victory Parish. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Antonia Lanagan and daughter-in-law of the late John and Clara Zavacki; the late beloved husband Eugene Zavacki; loving mother of Patricia (the late Tatsuyoshi Suzuki), Kenneth (Daria Masini), the late Robert (Kathryn Szumy), Nancy (Robert Burtis), James (the late M. Elena Martinez), Carol (Richard Welch), and Diane (Jeffery Ockerlund). She will be missed by her 11 precious grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Her dear sisters, Bernice (the late Fred Franger), and Josephine (Joseph Shade); her late brother Jerry (the late Mary Anne Shade); her late brothers-in-law Raymond, Norman, Ronald, and James Zavacki; sisters-in-law Laverne, Connie, and the late Catherine Zavacki. She was the aunt of many nieces and nephews. Therese attended Notre Dame High School for Girls. She loved to travel, read mystery books, work on crossword puzzles and play games with family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her. Visitation Sunday Dec. 12th 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM and Monday Dec.13th 9:30 AM until time of funeral services 10:30 AM from TOHLE FUNERAL HOME 4325 W. Lawrence Ave to OUR LADY OF VICTORY CHURCH 5212 W. Agatite, Mass 11:00 AM. Interment private. In lieu of flowers Masses for Therese or donations to your own favorite charity in her name appreciated.
