Thin Thi "Vy" Corpe, age 93, of St. Petersburg, Florida, departed on February 14th, 2025, at Bayfront Hospital/Orlando Health.

Having fled hostile, invading forces in North Viet Nam, Vy met then married Frank Walter Corpe (deceased) in 1955-1956. Attached to military service, they traveled/ resided in various locations, including Saigon, South Viet Nam, Fort Ord and Monterey, California, Bangkok, Thailand, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and Fort Lewis, Washington state.
Prior to hardship/combat tours, Frank and Vy purchased a home in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Vy is preceeded in death by husband Frank and daughter VyVy. She is survived by son Alan of St. Petersburg, Florida.
She was a member of Lealman Methodist Church, and was for a time active in their Women's Circle.
A patriot at heart, Vy was a PTA parent, and sold "Savings Stamps" at Norwood Elementary School while Frank served a combat tour in Viet Nam.
In 1989, Vy was honored with the Americanism Medal, awarded by the Daughters of the American Revolution on March 2nd of that year.
On April 29th of 1995, she received her 20 year pin from the American Red Cross in her capacity as a volunteer interpreter.
Later in life, Vy worked a number of varied positions, most proudly as an interpreter, then as Refugee Resettlement Specialist for Catholic Social Services, a position most suited to her warm humanism and people-oriented spirit... the lives of 34,000 people were positively impacted by her efforts in this capacity.

Vy was one of the most caring, kind, and compassionate people I have ever known.
She used her quiet competence to help others adjust to hardship and build new lives.
Vy, you have earned the respect and gratitude of so many. May you rest now
Knowing you are honored and loved.
Your friend,
Beverly
