Thomas Ahern Obituary

Born on August 25, 1955, in Omaha, Nebraska, Tom built a life rooted in hard work, dedication, and love for his family. He began his career as a diesel mechanic and, in 1984, took the bold step of opening his own diesel mechanic shop. Through the years, he became known not only for his mechanical expertise but also for his willingness to lend a hand to those in need.
Tom's passion extended beyond the garage. He had a deep love for classic vehicles and spent countless hours restoring and working on them. When he wasn't under the hood of a car or helping someone with theirs, he found joy out on the water-especially taking the boat out at Lake of the Ozarks.
Family was central to Tom's life. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kristi Ahern of Lake Ozark; his son Josh Ahern of Ralston; daughter Jessica (Nick) Burke of Glenwood, Iowa; stepsons Kevin (Andrea) Clymer, Jason (Veronica) Clymer of Omaha and Nickolas Clymer of Aurora, Nebraska; and stepdaughter Shelby Clymer of Salt Lake City, Utah; 9 grandchildren and sisters Barbara (Steve) of Omaha, NE and Mary Salnicky of La Vista, NE
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Patricia Ahern, and his brother Jimmy Ahern.
Tom will be remembered as a loving man who placed great value on family and community. His generosity touched many lives over the years.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. A Visitation will be held on July 18, 2025, from 05:00 PM to 07:00 PM at Ralston United Church of Christ - 7638 Maywood St.,Ralston, Nebraska. Service will be at the church on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 10:00 AM.

Deep condolences to Tom´s family. Tom was a good man and instrumental to me getting started when I decided to go out on my own as a driver. I will miss seeing Tom at his shop and sharing the conversations we had.

My deepest sympathies to Tom´s family. Tom has been a good friend for many years. I will always remember playing Sunday morning golf with Tom with Terry Shannon, Mike Sheehan, my brother Mike, Lyle Sapp. Lots of laughs and hot dogs. Rest in peace Tommy.
