Thomas B. "Tom" Arendas

Thomas B. "Tom" Arendas, 79, of North Huntingdon, died Friday, January 30, 2026 at home. Tom was an Army veteran who was stationed in Korea and was a retired employee of North Huntingdon Township where he worked for 38 years with 8 years as the roads superintendent. He also worked for many years for Mills Plumbing. Tom could do just about anything and helped many people. He was also active for over fifty years with North Huntingdon EMS & Rescue being one of the first two people to receive his EMT certification in March of 1974 and served as chief for at least 25 years. He was a longtime member of Circleville Volunteer Fire Department and served on the North Huntingdon Township Relief Association. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the Rescue 8 family for all the care and respect shown to Tom and his family. He is survived by his wife of over 51 years, Joann Arendas, his son Brian T. Arendas and his wife Sara and his grandchildren Aiden, Addison, and Autumn Arendas. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Angel Marie Arendas. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, at the William Snyder Funeral Home, 521 Main St., Irwin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 5, at Immaculate Conception Church, Second St., Irwin. Those attending the Mass please go directly to the church. Interment with military honors will follow at Union Cemetery, North Huntingdon. North Huntingdon EMS & Rescue will hold services at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
