Sharon L. Smith

Sharon L. Smith, 76, of Irwin, died Sunday, February 8, 2026. She was born December 2, 1949 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late William and Isabella (Jackson) Smith and was also preceded in death by her sister Janice Stanislaw and sister in law Linda Smith. Sharon was a graduate of Norwin High School class of 1967, received her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Slippery Rock University and retired from the Norwin School District spending most of her career at Pennsylvania Avenue Elementary School. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Irwin, where she served as a deacon, elder, usher, and clerk of session. She also volunteered at the Norwin Public Library. She is survived by her siblings Wayne (Denise) Smith, Christine Smith, Stefanie (Ron) Burkhart, and Jeffrey (Tina) Smith; nieces and nephews Bryan (Julie) Smith, Matthew (Beth) Stanislaw, Jessica Stanislaw, Bradley (Kristy) Smith, Sarah (Ben) Farkas, Kyle Wood (fiancee Kayla Ruffner), Emma Wood (Shane Cieslewicz), Jake Smith, Ally Smith, Alaina (Anthony) Smith and Nathan (Ronni) Myotte; also several great nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Monday, February 16, at the William Snyder Funeral Home, 521 Main St., Irwin. A funeral service will follow at noon in First Presbyterian Church, 617 Main St., Irwin, with Rev. Doug Rehberg, officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, North Huntingdon.
