Thomas Awe Obituary

Thomas "Tom" R. Awe, Sr. passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026 at the age of 81.

He was born in Milwaukee, WI, on August 3, 1944. Tom attended St. Martini Lutheran Church and School, South Division High School, graduating in 1962. He also attended MIT.

Tom served in the U.S. Air Force from 1965 to 1970. While at the 26th Tactical Hospital at the Air Force Base in Ramstein, Germany, Tom developed a rapid processing technique which saved many hours. He received recognition for this throughout Europe.

Tom married Susan Szypulski on June 12, 1971. Tom worked at the Kettle Moraine Boys School/Correctional Institution for 36 years. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening.

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Sue of 54 years, his sons: Thomas Jr. and Christopher, daughter, Jennifer, and his grandchildren: Trevor, Madison, Kaikane and Alexandria. He is also survived by many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Margaret Awe and his brother, Rick.

Following Tom's wishes, there will be no services or visitation.

Tom, your family will always remember your kindness, respectfulness, sense of humor, and AWEsomeness.
