Thomas Frank Bartik Greenville - Thomas Frank Bartik, originally from Elizabeth, NJ, passed away June 12, 2024 at home. A memorial service will be held on Monday June 17, 2024 at 2 pm in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:45 to 1:45 prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Pinewood Memorial Park. Tom dedicated 37 years to teaching science in New Jersey and North Carolina, shaping the minds of countless students. His commitment to education was reflected in his achievements, including a Bachelor and a Master Degree of Science Education from Newark State Teachers College, as well as earning his Administrative Certificate. An Eagle Scout, Tom exemplified the values of service and dedication throughout his life. He served as a paramedic with Eastern Pines for 20 years and was one of the first certified and licensed high school trainers in North Carolina. He also served as a member of the selective service for 25 years. In retirement, Tom embraced his love for travel and photography, exploring the world with his wife, Karen. His passion for animals led him to support the Dalmatian Rescue of South Florida. Tom's legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will be remembered by all who knew him. His contributions to education, emergency services, and animal rescue have left a lasting impact on many lives. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly Bartik, his parents Grace and Frank Bartik, stepfather Chris Raba, and sister Patty Mack. Tom is survived by his loving wife, Karen Bartik; his son Scott Bartik (Rebecca); and his cherished grandchildren Dalton Bartik, Destiney Daniels (Jordan), and Matt Turner. He also leaves behind his sister Louanne Culver and nieces and nephews: Katie Paul (Stephen), Jaime Mack, Kristen Grabowski (Gregg), John Mardis, and William Culver, along with several great-nieces and nephews. Additionally, he is survived by his beloved Dalmatian, Finnegan.
