Thomas "Tommy" Bastow

SALAMANCA --- Thomas "Tommy" Bastow, 59, of Broad St., joined his family in Heaven on Sunday (January 19, 2025).

Tommy was born on September 24, 1965 to the late Thomas H. and Elizabeth D. Millard Bastow.

Tommy loved his Buffalo Bills, Scooby-Doo, country music, going to concerts, and to amusement parks to ride some big roller coasters. He also loved going to St. Bonaventure basketball games.

He is survived by a sister-in-law Sherry Bastow of Olean; two nephews, Robert (Krystal) Bastow and their two daughters, Stella and Kaia Bastow, both of DuBois, PA, and Thomas W. Bastow of Olean; his aunts, Joyce Reed of Binghamton and Penny Gumaer of Harpursville; his two uncles, John Reed of Olean and Edward Reed of Bradford, PA, along with numerous cousins. He had a community of loving friends who will also miss him dearly.

In addition to his parents, Tommy was predeceased by his grandparents, Edward Burr Reed, Sr., and Nellie Gladys Bastow Reed; his two brothers, Frances Bastow and Bobby Bastow; his three sisters, Theresea Bastow, Dianne Bastow, and Pamela Bastow; his aunt, Sally Reed Lemon, and two uncles, Norman Reed and Douglas Reed.

The family would like to thank his devoted caregiver, guardian, and friend of over 30 years, Kristen Arnold, along with everyone from the Five Mile group home, and the Absolut Care of Salamanca Rehabilitation and Nursing Home where he resided in recent years.

Friends will be received on Saturday (January 25, 2025) from noon until 2pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. A funeral service will begin at 2pm in the funeral home with Rev. Ronald Frazier of the Olean Revival Center to officiate. Burial will take place in the Spring at Allegany Cemetery.
