Thomas Beausang Sr.

1937 - 2024

Thomas Beausang Sr., 87, of Murphy, N.C., passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024, surrounded by his son, Thomas Jr., and Thomas Jr.'s wife, Maria Beausang.
Thomas was born on Sept. 14, 1937, in Boston, Mass., and attended Boston Technical High School and graduated in 1955.
After high school, he worked for Gulf Oil, Faded Glory, and most recently enjoyed a long career with Amtrak in Boston. He was known in the Amtrak travel service industry in Boston as a man of honesty and integrity, and worked so many, many hours servicing customers.
He loved to travel and loved living in the mountains of Murphy, N.C.
His most important endeavor everyday was getting to know our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He studied the true word of God consistently and often spoke about the apostle Paul and the three passages in the Bible that meant the most to him:
1 Corinthians 1-5: ""Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.""
Ephesians 1:13: ""And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit.""
Romans 6:23: ""But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord.""
We will remember him with great love and respect knowing he was a loving father who survived life in America during so many important decades of sacrifice and commitment to the American dream.
He was preceded by his wife, Beth Riley; parents, Thomas and Eileen Beausang of Norwood; brother, John; and sisters, Eileen, Mary and Catherine.
Thomas is survived by his children, Lisa Bowman, Thomas Beausang Jr., Denise Beausang; seven grandchildren, James, Andrew, Thomas, Danielle, Madison, Nate, Jeremy; and great-grandson, Mark.
He will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery in Norwood, Mass., next to his father, Thomas, and mother, Eileen, of Cloyne, Cork, Ireland.
