Thomas Beck Obituary
Thomas "Tom" Wayne (Zellers) Beck, 80, of Wayne, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay. He was born September 25, 1944, in Findlay, to the late Lester & Alice (Beck) Zellers and was then adopted by the late Charles & Mae (Johns) Beck. Tom married Beverly A. Driggs, July 18, 1964, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Monroe, Michigan, and she preceded him in passing September 17, 2022.
Surviving Tom are his daughters, Dawn (Larry) Hansen, Darla (Eric) Alexander, and Doreen (Michael) Kreais, all of Wayne; grandchildren, Stephanie (Zach) Hathaway, Joshua McGowan, Jasmine (Eric) Gibson, Andrew (Katie) Alexander, Liz (Nate) Dean, Samantha Kreais (Brock), Josie Alexander (Juss), and Colleen Kreais (Anthony); great-grandchildren, Jade, Ethan, Layla, Tim, Jordan, Cara, Mason, James, Antoinette, George, and Hannah; siblings, Dave Zellers and Marlyn Gensler; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Beverly; and siblings, Zeke Zellers, Bob Zellers, and Don Beck.
Tom was a 1963 graduate of Fostoria High School and then worked for 17 years at the foundry in Fostoria, followed by 11 years in purchasing at the tank plant in Lima. He eventually worked at their corporate office in Sterling Heights, Michigan, where he retired in November 1999. He was a life member of Golden Eagles's Club, Port Clinton Elks Lodge No. 1718, and Sportsman's Club near Fostoria. Tom had a passion for fishing, sail boating, camping, and enjoyed spending time at his cabin on the water near Port Clinton. His greatest love in life, though, was spending time with his family, as he was a very proud Dad and Grandpa.
Friends will be received from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Church of the Good Shepherd near Wayne, where a Celebration of Life Memorial Service will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday, November 22, 2025, with Pastor Brad Kehn officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne.
