Thomas Henry Berens

Thomas Henry Berens, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on August 3, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, Tom shared 45 loving years of marriage with his wife, Connie. Together, they created a home filled with laughter, warmth, and cherished memories.

Tom was a dedicated engineer, serving proudly at Procter & Gamble for over 30 years. He was known for his remarkable intelligence and resourcefulness as well as a passion for fixing things. He kept everything in the house from stoves, washing machines, and TV's working smoothly. Tom was also a wonderful singer, delighting his church community with his lovely voice.

Family was at the heart of Tom's life. He is survived by his wife Connie, his children: Melissa (Joe) Wolf, Scott Berens (Attley Greene), and Jessica (Justin) Rigling, his grandchildren, Madison Vanderman and Eli Wolf, whom he cherished, and his siblings: Jerry, Trisha, Barbara, Chuck, Joanne, and Kathy. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Genevieve Berens.

Each Christmas, a particularly special time for Tom, the Berens family would gather, creating lasting memories filled with love, laughter, and delicious meals, most lovingly prepared by Tom himself. He was also well known for lavish dinner parties that he would throw every holiday for friends and family. He was a man who found great joy in travel, especially on trips to reunite with his siblings, who lived across the world, and during many family vacations to New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

In celebration of his life, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Columban Church, on Friday, December 19th at 10 am. Family and friends are invited to join and celebrate the extraordinary life of Tom, reflecting on the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the memories that will forever remain in their hearts. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Tom's name to NPR or Glenmary Home Missioners, two organizations he held close to his heart.

Tom's spirit will live on in the love of his family and the countless memories they hold together. His kindness, intelligence, and unwavering support will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
