Thomas Felix "Tommy, Big T, Uncle Tommy, Grandpa" Betcher

Thomas Felix Betcher (aka. Tommy, Big T, Uncle Tommy, Grandpa) was born in Vancouver, WA, on Sept. 16, 1961, to Felix and Sharon Betcher. He left this earth on Jan. 22, 2023.

Tom graduated from Washougal High School in 1980 and went on to work multiple jobs throughout his life. Union Carbide, HP as a private contractor, security in Vancouver, and as a contractor at the Estacada Dam to name a few. He was book smart and extremely technical.

Tom loved to attend any local Formula One Races and was an avid watcher when an international race was televised. He loved Christmas and birthdays, especially for his son, grandson, nephews and niece. He would spoil them and enjoyed setting up and showing the littles how to play or work the toys. He thoroughly enjoyed tinkering in his dad’s shop, taking ordinary items and making works of art. Tom loved the coast and found peace when he was there, especially when he was flying kites. He loved water skiing on the Columbia!

He is survived by his parents, Felix and Sharon Betcher; brother, David Betcher and spouse, Cherri; nephews, Riley and spouse, Jamie; great-nephews, Beckham and Tyler and fiancée, Alana; brother, Brad Betcher; niece, Hannah and her husband, Kyle Dewhirst; nephews, Jacob and Maxwell; sister, Amy Annette; son, Ryan Betcher and grandson, Zachary; daughter, Julie Main and spouse, Jon Cartrette and granddaughters, Olivia and Aurora.

The family is hosting a celebration of life at his childhood home on Felix and Sharon’s property at 924 S.E. Blair Road, Washougal, WA 98671, on the Little Washougal, Sunday, Aug. 6, 2023, at 1 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Please bring your funny stories of Big T.
