73, of East Greenwich passed away at home with his wife and daughter by his side. Born in Warwick, he was the son of the late Martin and Gertrude (Guillemette) Blais. He was the devoted and loving husband of Kathleen (Saccoccia) Blais, they would have celebrated their 50th anniversary on April 28th. Kathleen is the daughter of the late Antonio and Catherine Saccoccia.
A graduate of West Warwick High School, he then went on to serve his country as a reservist for 6 years in the US Army, in the Vietnam Era. Tommy was a talented chef, owning his own restaurant, The Spaghetti Factory, also working for various country clubs and restaurants, including Ledge Mont Country Club, Crestwood Country Club, Fore & Aft Restaurant, and Club 400. A "Friend of Bill W" for the last 46 years he was a fixture, well loved, and will be sorely missed in the close-knit community. An avid New England sports fan, his favorite would be the Boston Bruins, one of his prize possessions would have to be his picture with Bobby Orr, that was even signed. Tommy didn't just have one heart he absolutely had two, a selfless man that would give his last penny to help anyone else. His even keeled, warm, joyful, and just go with the flow, demeanor were something to be envied. He was a caregiver by nature, an inherent trait from his mother. His love for his wife and the way that he cared for her, throughout their almost 50 years of marriage, was nothing but inspiring.
Besides his wife he was the devoted father of Michelle S. Blais, and the grandfather of Mark Stockton. He was the brother of Russell Blais and his wife Virginia, Suzanne Branch and her husband Earl, and Lucie Stokes. He was the uncle of Frank Chauvette and his wife Tammy, Stacey Blais, Scott Blais, Jessica Barboza, Michaela Nisbet, Joseph Bergeron, Mark Renaud, and several great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by nephew Russell T. Blais, his son-in-law David Stockton, and brother-in-law Craig Stokes.
