Obituary for Thomas Carl Blazowski

Thomas was born in Manhattan, New York on February 23, 1945

He passed away September 23, 2025, after a two-year battle with cancer.

He died peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends.

Thom grew up in Maywood, New Jersey. He attended catholic school at Our Lady Queen of Peace, and graduated from St. Cecilia High School in Englewood, New Jersey. He was involved with Drama Club and acted in several school plays. He also would put productions on in his basement with his childhood friends. Thom bought a video camera with his paper route money and would do home videos for the family. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was stationed at Lackland, Texas and also Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Colorado. Thom worked on Titan Missiles and the powerhouse. Thom met Dianne as a blind date for New Years Eve Dec. 31, 1966. Thom was honorably discharged from the Air Force in June 1967. He went back home to New Jersey and attended Radio Announcing School. He married Dianne in Denver and together moved to New Jersey. He obtained his Broadcast License, and his first job was at WSLT radio station in Ocean City, New Jersey. His radio handle was Thom Lynn. He was offered a position in Burlington, Vermont at WVNY TV. After that station was sold, he was hired at KTXL TV 40. He was an Operations engineer and worked there for 38 years. He retired in 2008. Thom helped Dianne with her Pet Sitting Business and helped coach soccer for the over 30 Women's Soccer League. He also partnered with George Brand and co-owned a Nautilus Fitness Center. They enjoyed helping young students with workouts and body building. He was a lifetime gym member and worked hard to maintain his physical health. He is survived by his wife Dianne, sister Vicky, Daughter Karen, Sons Jared, & Robert, grandchildren Zach, Jude, Dominic, Ty, Miranda, Nolan, & Brody, Nieces Eileen, Lori, & Heidi, Nephews Brian, Mark, Derek, and Nicholas.

Funeral Mass will be held at St Mary's Catholic Church at 1333 58th St. on October 24, at 11am those wanting to attend visitation will be at 10am before mass. Following mass, he will be committed at St. Mary's Cemetery and Funeral Center at 6509 Fruitridge Rd. In lieu of flowers, please visit the go fund me website or The Gary Sinise Foundation website. Thom was always so proud to be a Veteran and supported their causes.
