Thomas E. Boodry, age 69, a longtime Wakefield resident, died on Sunday May 12 at the Bear Hill Nursing Home.

He was born at the Chelsea Naval Hospital on August 24, 1954 and was the son of the late William and Ida (Foley) Boodry.

Tom was a graduate of Wakefield High School, class of 1973. He was a dedicated employee of Hanscom Federal Credit Union for the past 20 years. Tom loved taking his children to Red Sox and Patriots games, while also rooting for the Green Bay Packers. He loved fishing, and going on family vacations to the Bahamas, Florida, and Cape Cod. 

He was the beloved husband of 47 years to Joan (Maguire) Boodry. He was the loving father of Thomas P. Boodry and his wife Jillian of Acton, Ellen McDonough and her husband Scott of Wakefield, Catherine Sartell and her husband John of Peabody, and Patrick Boodry and his fiancée Alexis Parent. Tom was the brother of William Boodry Jr., Darlene Taylor, the late Carol Surette and the late Richard Boodry. He was the proud grandfather of Isla Boodry, Charles Sartell, and Connor McDonough. 

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Sunday May 19 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick Church, 71 Central Street Stoneham on Monday May 20 at 10:00 a.m. Interment, Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.
