Tom was a great guy. I first got to know him through his wife Myrtle, who worked with me at Northland College. I took a few trips on Midstate Airlines each year, and Tom was usually my pilot, taking me between JFK (Ashland) and O'Hare. We had some interesting experiences on those flights, including the fun of the evening flight hospitality basket and the time we lost an engine and had to put down at a nearby small airport. He and I laughed about those times when we were together at a party a few years ago. RIP, Captain Tom!
