NASSAU - Thomas George Boyle, 83, died on his birthday, Thursday, October 9, 2025, surrounded by his loving children, at Samaritan Hospital after several long illnesses. Born on October 9, 1942, he was the son of the late George and Evelyn Boyle.
Tom was predeceased by his loving wife, Helen Boyle in 1994. Survivors include his children, Colene Phoenix (Phil), Karen Boyle (Bob Freitag), Patrick Boyle (Eileen Fitzgibbons). Grandchildren, Oliver Garrison, Addison Phoenix, Cameron Phoenix, Elle Boyle. Brothers, Robert Boyle (Peggy), Frederick Boyle (Anna), Dennis Boyle (Stefanie); and brother-in-law, George Michna (Verna). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many friends.
A 1960 graduate of Columbia High School, he lettered in five sports, basketball, baseball, soccer, track and cross country. He was inducted into the Columbia High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009.
A lifelong resident of Nassau, Tom or Tommy, as he was known to family and friends, was a retired member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 7 of Albany. Tom was a proud member of numerous clubs in the capital region, the Elks Lodge, the Ancient order of Hibernians, the Polish American Citizens Club, all located in Albany. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Rensselaer. He was a frequent patron of McGeary's Pub in Albany, Delmonico's in Colonie and the former Bleecker Cafe in Albany.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with his family on Monday October 13, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, 10 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 26 Church St. Nassau. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Nassau will immediately follow the Mass.
