Thomas Brenden Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 4, 2025.
Thomas Odin Brenden 09/15/1976 to 07/26/2025 Thomas Odin Brenden passed away in his home with his 3 beloved cats on 07/26. He proudly worked for the Minneapolis Public Schools for over 30 years. He could be seen wearing one of his many hats, with his signature ponytail, jewelry and flannels that he used to joke were his work uniform, only to add a vest in the cooler months. He was an active member in many spiritual groups in the Twin Cities over the years making many dear friends and putting his knowledge and library to work. His passion for history and the Civil War was painstakingly realized in the tedious painting of tiny armies of small scale figures that he would use to reenact battles on the weekends. His love if coffee, M&Ms, sci-fi, books, cats, study of random things, made discussions interesting, informative and often times silly. His laughter was infectious. He will be remembered as an interesting, intelligent, kind hearted soul, an irreplaceable friend, a cat lover, a slayer of dragons, and things that go bump in the night. A man who no longer feels the pain he felt in this world, and who is now dancing in the next. He will be missed by his friends and family alike. A birthday and celebration of life will be help at Merlin's Rest Pub in Minneapolis, MN on September 15, 2025. From 7-9pm Please bring a favorite photo or story and raise a glass to Thomas or Odin, regardless of whatever name you called him, he will be a missing spot for us all. And if you could take a moment and thank the Universe for him, or pick up a rock in his memory do it. He would like that.
