Thomas Brydie Obituary

THOMAS A. BRYDIE, JR Thomas A. Brydie, Jr., passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, after 94 years of a life well lived.   He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Mikiko (Takamatsu) Brydie; their three children, Suzette Brydie, Thomas A. Brydie III, and George A. Brydie & wife Joyce; and two grandsons, Samuel Ike and Zachary Sirois, and extended grandchildren: Scott, Amber, Dana, and Amanda.  He leaves his sister Barbara Dewey, step-sister Marva McCoy, generations of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.   He is pre-deceased by his siblings Yvonne, Willy, George, Urythe Brydie, and step-brother Wendell Brydie. Son of the late Thomas A. Brydie, Sr. & Lillian (Foy) Brydie, Tom was born, raised, and educated in Blackstone, Virginia.  Following high school graduation, Tom enlisted to proudly serve our nation for ten years in the US Army, stationed in Camp Fuji, Honshu, Japan, during the Korean War, before being honorably discharged as a Specialist 5th Class.  Tom returned home and began his lifelong career as a machinist, working for many years with GenRad and later Res-Tech, from where he ultimately retired.   A dedicated community volunteer, Tom organized and managed the famed Lakeside Warrior softball team, and devoted himself to youth sports and activities as a Little League coach, Cub Scout, and Boy Scout den leader.  He was a man of great faith and a devout member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Clinton.  As a friend of Bill W., Tom supported countless friends on their journey to sobriety.  Above all, he was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather.  Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton.  A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 209 Union St., Clinton, with burial to follow in Reservoir Pines Cemetery, Clinton. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Thomas A. Brydie, Jr. to: Church of the Good Shepherd, 209 Union St., Clinton, MA 01510.  Online condolences may be placed at www.philbincomeaufh.com
