Thomas Brylewski, born on December 11, 1944, in Hamtramck, Michigan, passed away on May 18, 2025, in Warren, Michigan, after a short illness. He was a devoted family man, leaving behind a legacy of love and commitment that will resonate through the generations.
Educated at St. Florian High School in Hamtramck, Thomas furthered his knowledge by earning a bachelor's degree from the Detroit Institute of Technology. His intelligence was complemented by a distinctive personality; he was a lovable curmudgeon, known for his sharp wit and a heart that would go to great lengths for those he held dear.
Throughout his life, Thomas carried an immense appreciation for the past. He had a particular fondness for classic cars and antiques, often delighting in their stories and intricacies. His hobbies included refinishing furniture and taking on remodeling jobs around his home, where he meticulously ensured each project was completed to perfection, albeit at a glacial speed.
Thomas is remembered fondly by his family: his beloved wife, Linda Brylewski, with whom he shared 55 wonderful years; his daughter, Jennifer (Gerald) Sornig; his son, Thomas (Jennifer) Brylewski; and his cherished grandchildren, Mya, Mallory, Micah, Anya, Evangeline, and Everett. He is also survived by his brother, Ronald Brylewski, and sister-in-law, Gerri Brylewski.
He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Genevieve Brylewski, as well as a brother, Albert Brylewski, and a sister, Carol Brylewski.
In honoring Thomas's life, those who knew him are reminded of his proudest accomplishments—his children and grandchildren, who will carry forward his legacy of love, dedication, and an appreciation for the finer, timeless things in life.
Visitation will be held on May 22, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wysocki & Wilk Funeral Home in Warren, Michigan, with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM.
