Thomas J. Burke Jr.

Thomas J. Burke, Jr., passed away peacefully at his home on February 20, 2025 at the age of 73. He was born and raised in South Philadelphia and was a graduate of Sacred Heart of Jesus School and Saint John Neumann High School. He served his country proudly as a member of the United States Coast Guard. Tom was an avid Phillies fan and loved visiting surrounding stadiums to watch his Phillies play. This was a special bond he shared with his sons and grandsons.
He was the beloved husband of Rosemarie (nee Loewe) and loving Dad to Tommy III (Maureen), Chris (Denise), Jennifer Ricciardi (Mike), Erika Rocheleau (Jeff), James, and Daniel (Jholly Prell "Hana"). He was the devoted Pop Pop of Marissa (Dylan), Tyler, Jessica, Mikey, Jordan, Matthew, Jenna, Jasen, and Austin, as well as Great Grandpop to the late Lennon Avery. He also leaves behind his sister, Donna Smollen, and his nieces, a nephew, and cousins.
Tom was a jeans and hoodie kind of guy and wanted everyone to remember him that way. In honor, family is asking everyone attending to proudly wear your Phillies gear, no suit and tie required.
Relatives and friends are invited, Saturday, March 1, 2025, to his Viewing from 9 AM to 10:30 AM at Rogers Funeral Home, Inc., 1426-30 South 3rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147 followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 1404 South 3rd Street, Philadelphia, AP 19147. Interment will be held privately at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date. Military honors will be rendered following his Funeral Mass.
