Dolores Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rogers Funeral Home, Inc. - Philadelphia on Jan. 22, 2026.
Dolores A Smith, 93, of South Philadelphia, and most recently, a resident of Springfield Crossings Enhanced Senior Living, passed away peacefully on January 20th, 2025, surrounded by much love. Born on October 1,1932 in Philadelphia, Dolores lived a long and meaningful life marked by kindness, resilience, and devotion to her family.

She was a loving wife, mother, mommom and great grandmother and aunt, whose gentle strength and steady presence touched all who knew her.

Dolores was a woman of quiet strength and generous spirit. She found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was a devoted Catholic who included everyone in her prayers daily. She loved sitting on Galloway Street and eventually sat in front of her room at her assisted living facility greeting everyone walking by. She became an active participant in all activities and won many rounds of bingo. She loved eating good food and going to the shore to hang out with family. She appreciated going to her grandchildren's sporting events and cheering them on.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lenin "Kingy" Smith; her son, Michael Smith; her grandson, Bobby Skrzypiec; her sisters, Margie Bamberger (George), Anna Mae Smith (Edward), Marie Brown, Theresa Vogts (Richard); and her brother, Joseph Brown (Chickie).

She is survived by her two daughters, Pat Garozzo (Lou), Roseann Osadchuk (Roman); her five grandchildren, Keith Skrzypiec (Amy), Chris Skrzypiec, Caitlyn Kravitz (Matt), Allie Worrell, and Bohdan Osadchuk; her two great-grandchildren, Sydney Skrzypiec and Benjamin Kravitz; and her sister-in-law, Tillie Brown. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and residents of Springfield Crossings, who became her second family and filled her life with companionship and comradery.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing and Funeral, Friday, January 30, 2026 from the Rogers Funeral Home, Inc., 1426-30 South 3rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147 after 8 AM until 10 AM followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM from the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 1404 South 3rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147.
