Tom was, above all else, a devoted and beloved family man. His greatest joy in life was the time he spent with the people he loved. To his family, he was a steady presence, kind, patient, and endlessly supportive. He was devoted to his lovely wife Loretta. His entire family cherished his non-judgmental nature and the unconditional love he gave so freely to each of them. With Tom, you never felt measured or compared; you simply felt accepted, valued, and safe.

Tom found deep happiness in life’s simple, meaningful moments. Whether he was casting a line while fishing, shuffling a deck of cards for a friendly game, or setting out on a new travel adventure, Tom was most content when he was surrounded by family. He had a quiet curiosity about the world and took special pleasure in animal watching and long walks in nature, where he could slow down, observe, and appreciate the beauty around him.

Tom’s life was a reminder that love does not have to be loud to be powerful. It can be steady, gentle, and constant. His warmth, his patience, and his unwavering acceptance created a home in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever loved.

Tom built a distinguished career in real estate, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues throughout the Akron community. As owner of Thomas Campensa Realty, he led with integrity, vision, and a genuine commitment to serving others. His leadership and professionalism later continued at Howard Hanna Realty, where he formed lasting friendships and remained a valued and trusted presence until his retirement.

A highly accomplished realtor, Tom served as President of the Akron Area Board of Realtors, a role that reflected both his expertise and the deep trust his peers placed in him. Over the course of his career, he received numerous awards recognizing his outstanding achievements, ethical standards, and unwavering dedication to his clients and community.

Tom took immense pride in giving back and was an active and engaged leader throughout his life. In addition to his presidency of the Akron Area Board of Realtors, he also served as president of Toastmasters of Fairlawn, the Iradale Association of Bath, Unity Chapel of Light, and the Jaycees. In every organization he touched, Tom’s steady leadership, warmth, and commitment left a lasting impact.

Tom is survived by Loretta, his precious wife of 60 years, whose partnership and devotion were the foundation of his life. He leaves behind his son, Tom and daughter-in-law Cathy Campensa, his daughter Patty and son-in-law Rob Nestico, Gina and son-in-law Greg Tost, and Laurel and son-in-law Constantine Toscidis. Tom was a proud and devoted grandfather to Sarah, Rebecca, Elena, Anesti, Antonio, Giovanna, and Gabriella, each of whom brought him immense joy.

Tom is also survived by his younger brother, Tim, whom he loved dearly, as well as nieces and nephews Ken, Ted, Patrick, Nick and Debbie. Tom also enjoyed visits with his cousin Sherry from Washington.

Tom made many special memories with extraordinary friends. Kathy Pelletier is a dear and cherished friend to both Tom and Loretta. Cousin Delores Davis was very special to Tom, and as close to him as a sister.

Tom joins dear departed friends Gloria and Len Kunka, his parents and parents-in-law.

The family is especially grateful for Tom's caretakers Ana Paula, Colleen, Sybil, Col and Trish who provided loving, kind, care and company to him as he struggled with Alzheimer's.

A private graveside service was conducted at Foxfield Preserve in Wilmot. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring at the Nature Preserve.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Concordia at Sumner, 970 Sumner Parkway, Copley, Ohio 44321.
