Thomas gave many years to his career as a truck driver working for Sutton Steel and Supply. Later, he began working as an operator for Willie Provost Farm, where he dedicated many years as well.
When he wasn't working, Thomas took pleasure in the simple joys of life. He was a member of the "Beck City Bad Boys" trail riding club and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Thomas looked forward to his weekends spent outdoors.
Thomas was a pillar of support for his family, demonstrating unwavering love and devotion in each role he fulfilled. He was a devoted husband, a loving father to many and a dedicated brother. Thomas held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren, particularly Lakaire and Koreyon Carter, whom he raised as his own. Thomas will be greatly missed but the legacy he leaves behind will be forever cherished.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Audrey Greene Carter; daughter, Trinika Carter; sons, Thomas Carter, Jr. (Kristie) and Korey Carter (Christine); sisters, Mary Bell Gage (Richard), Laura Bell Carter, Anna Bell Martin (Alfred) and Belita Ann George (Calvin); brothers, Elroy Carter and Johnny Taylor (Felicia); 25 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
