Thomas Wayne Chaplain

Thomas "Tommy" Wayne Chaplain, 66, a resident of Jonesboro, departed this life, Friday, December 6, 2024, in Jonesboro. He was born October 24, 1958, the son of James Ralph, Sr. and Augusta Pauline Williams Chaplain.
Tommy served in the US Army after high school, and worked at various jobs after he got out of the Army. Most recently he worked in maintenance at ASU. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was a friend of the Association Motorcycle Club, where he always enjoyed cooking for their functions and was involved with the toy run drive every year for 25 years. This is the 40th year for the Association Motorcycle Club to help with this event. Tommy loved children, shooting various firearms, squirrel hunting and making display pipes out of the deer horns he collected. He was known for watching over the neighborhood, making the neighbors feel safe, and had a big heart, always willing to help out any way he could.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Ralph and Pauline Chaplain, five brothers: Arthur Chaplain, Jim Chaplain, Howard Chaplain, Robert Soden and John Soden, three sisters; Barbara Russell, Betty Lacko, and Agnes Stallings.
Survivors include his only son: James Henry Chaplain and wife Karen of Newport, two brothers: David Chaplain and wife Lisa of Fisher, Allen Soden and wife Teresa of Waldenburg, two sisters: Anita Troxler and husband Henry of Cash, and Sybil Crutchfield of Kissimmee, Florida, two grandchildren: Mason and Tensley Chaplain of Newport, The brothers of the Association Motorcycle Club, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, dear friends and neighbors.
Special thanks go to Steve "Slim" Taylor, Nancy Tucker, and Huck, Tyler and Kimberly Floyd for their care and friendship through the years.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Southwest Church Christmas Emporium, 1601 James Street, Jonesboro, AR 72401 or the Oak Grove Cemetery Fund.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, December 10th, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Weiner, with visitation beginning at 1:30 and services starting at 2:00. Military Honors will be provided and Rev. Tim Morgan will be officiating.
