Thomas Joel Cipro

Canandaigua - Thomas Joel Cipro, age 86, passed away peacefully, on June 28, 2024, while surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Patricia Cipro; four children, Thomas "Chip" (Loretta) Cipro, Chris (Monique) Cipro, Renee (Greg) Babior and Cindy McCutcheon; 3 stepchildren, Chris (Melissa) Jacobs, Greg Jacobs and Erica Jacobs; 14 grandchildren who were the light of his life; and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his grandson, Chase McCutcheon in 2024.
Tom was born in Rochester and was the son of Thomas and Rosemary "Rosebud" (Arena) Cipro. He was a proud veteran of the US Coast Guard and continued his service into his 70's, by volunteering at the VA Medical Center in Canandaigua. A storyteller like no other, Tom had a full and eventful life. If you were in Tom's presence, you were laughing. He and Pat spent their winters in Fort Myers, FL where Tom enjoyed playing bocce, napping on the lanai and walking his beloved fur baby Lola, who predeceased him by two weeks. He enjoyed reading the paper every morning with Pat, and always looked forward to the frequent visits from his grandchildren. Tom will be remembered as a hilarious man with a genuine kindness in his heart. Anyone who met him was greeted with warmth, a smile, and usually a humorous quip. A true gentleman, he was adored by everyone who knew him, and will be deeply missed.
A short service and celebration of life will be held Wednesday, July 10, at 11am, at Canandaigua County Club Event Center, 1 Fallbrook Park, Canandaigua. Private interment with military honors will be in Bath National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your local VA Medical Center, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester at Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Rd., Fairport, NY 14450, or make someone laugh in Tom's honor.
