Thomas (Tom) Byrne Cochran, 80, passed away February 6, 2025. He was born November 26, 1944 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Thomas George and Lauretta Cochran.
He was the oldest of four brothers, including Michael, Richard, and Daniel. He attended Cretin High and subsequently attended the University of Minnesota and the University of Wisconsin for general business studies. He worked in real estate, property management, and industrial development for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad for 38 years and retired in January, 2002. Tom married Polly Ellis in 1967, they were married for 57 years; and they had four children, Angela, Kevin, Craig, and Joey. Tom began officiating soccer for FIFA in 1985 and officiated for the North Texas Soccer Association and high school soccer for over three decades. He also was a civic servant for the Mansfield Soccer Association for many years.
Tom is preceded in death by his brothers Richard and Michael, father Thomas George, mother Lauretta, son Kevin and grandson Rennon. Left to honor his memory are brother Daniel, wife Polly, daughter Angela, sons Craig (Tory) and Joey (Kendall) and nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
